INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED FIVE FACTS OF STORING AND TRANSPORTATION OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the representatives of Revenue Service, exposed five facts of storing and transportation of goods subject to marking, without excise marks, in different regions of Georgia.

 
As a result of investigative activities, 3 250 packs of cigarettes with different brand names, without excise marks, prepared for selling, were seized from persons exposed in the crime in Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regions.
 

Total market value of the seized cigarettes exceeds GEL 12 000.

 
Investigation is underway under the first part of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 2 to 4 years.
