As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out on behalf of information provided by LEPL National Food Agency, representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, on the basis of the court ruling, detained one person on the fact of cheating the consumer and production and usage of the forged payment and official documents.
Investigation determined that the accused person, head of one of the companies, had a contract with NNLE Samtredia Kindergarten Union, based on which during the period of 2018, he had to provide kindergartens with beef under the above mentioned contract. According to the contract, company was obliged to present the quality certificate of the delivered product to the customer, at the moment of delivery. Instead of this, the accused person, was producing forged veterinarian certificates on meat (so called Form No.2) and delivered beef to kindergartens using these forged documents. Investigation also determined that partially, instead of beef, the horse meat was delivered to kindergartens.
Investigation is underway under the first part of article 219, the first part of article 210 and the first part of article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 2 to 4 years.
