As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Mtskheta-Mtianeti division of Investigation Department of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained three persons on the fact of misappropriation of large amount of state property by deceit by manufacturing and using forged documents.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, by using forged documents, fraudulently registered 3 state-owned land plots, total volume of 24 600 square meters, located in the village Tsodoreti of Mtskheta municipality. According to the conclusion of the commodity expertise conducted on the case, the market value of the illegally acquired land plots estimates GEL 1 267 781.

As soon as the investigation was started, the illegally acquired land plots were immediately seized and after passing the relevant legal procedures, they will be returned to the State.

Investigation is underway under the third part, paragraph “b” of article 180 and second part, paragraph “b” of article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years. 

Relevant investigative measures are being continued, in order to identify and expose other persons involved in the abovementioned crime.
