As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of the Investigation service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the representatives of the customs department of the Revenue Service, exposed one person on the fact of breach of procedures related to movement of goods across the border of Georgia.
Investigation has revealed that the convicted person attempted to smuggle large quantities of medications to Azerbaijan through the customs checkpoint “Tsiteli Khidi” using the vehicle under his control.
As a result of the investigative activities, undeclared medications of various names were seized, the customs value of which exceeds GEL 22 000.
An investigation is under way under the first part of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
