INVESTIGATION SERVICE DEEPENS THE COOPERATION WITH CEPOL

Heads of the Investigation Department and Administration of the Investigation Service had a meeting with representatives of Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs. The aim of the meeting was to get familiar with some specific directions of “European Union Agency for Law-Enforcement Trainings” that would be interesting and important for the Investigation Service.

Parties summarized the projects fulfilled in previous year and discussed future cooperation plans.

Since 2017, for sharing the best practice and experience, employees of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia actively participate in CEPOL trainings. In particular, representatives of the Investigation Service have passed training courses in Poland and Bulgaria within the frames of the exchange program.

Agreement on cooperation between CEPOL and Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs was signed in 2011. Trainings and courses for raising qualification are being held within the frames of this agreement. Taking into consideration the enlargement of mandate of CEPOL, since 2017 the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has a chance to involve other law-enforcing bodies in the format of cooperation with CEPOL.

It has to be noted that Georgia is the first country from eastern partnership countries having the agreement on such format of cooperation with CEPOL.

CEPOL is an Agency of European Union that ensures organization, implementation and coordination of trainings for law-enforcement authorities of EU Member States. By promoting cooperation and exchange of experience between countries, CEPOL supports security of Europe.
