As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Adjara and Guria Division of Investigation Department of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained two persons on the fact of storage of large amount of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks and transportation of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks.

Investigation determined, that one of the detained persons, has stored large amount of non-excised tobacco, 2 160 boxes of MANCHESTER and DUBAO in his house for selling purposes. He has sold 490 boxes to the second detained person.

As a result of investigative activities, 2 160 boxes of non-excised tobacco having value of GEL 9 504 intended for sale, were seized, as well as the cash received through the trade of non-excised goods - in the amount of GEL 2 460.

Investigation is underway under the second part, paragraph “b” of Article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
