As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained three persons on the fact of misappropriation of state property in large quantities.

Investigation revealed, that the accused persons, on behalf of the companies under their management, in 2019-2020 years carried out fictitious operations, by which created forged tax asset in the amount of GEL 426 352 which was subsequently acquired by deception.

During the investigation, GEL 139 000 was paid to the state budget in the form of compensation for damages.

Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.

Relevant investigative measures are being continued in order to identify and expose other persons involved in the abovementioned crime.
