As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of the Investigations Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained two foreign citizens on the fact of selling a large amount of forged money.

The investigation revealed that the accused persons had imported and sold 20 pieces of counterfeit 500 euro banknotes in Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia.

As a result of investigative activities 10 000 counterfeit Euro banknotes were seized.

The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages the imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
