As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, specialist of one of the forest districts of Samtskhe-Javakheti Forestry Service of LEPL “National Forestry Agency”, was exposed on the fact of abusing official powers.

Investigation determined, that the accused person, who’s competence was to control the usage of forest on the territory of his action and discover the facts of illegal usage of forest, on the contrary to the state interests, gave priority to one of the individuals and gave him an opportunity to illegally collect pine tree saplings on the territory of that forest district.

According to the first part of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, imprisonment up to 3 years is envisaged for the above mentioned violation of law.
