As a result of the conducted operative-investigative activities and investigative actions, employees of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, together with the representatives of Customs Department of Revenue Service, have arrested one person on the fact of transportation of excisable goods without excise marks in large quantities.
Investigation has determined, that according to the documentation, mentioned person was conducting transportation of flowers from Georgia to Russian Federation through customs checkpoint “Kazbegi” by vehicle. As a result of the inspection there was revealed that the accused person was trying to transport cigarettes in large quantities without excise marks.
As a result of investigative activities, there was seized 75 000 boxes of cigarettes with different denominations in total value of GEL 217 500.
According to the III part of the article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, above mentioned crime envisages deprivation of liberty from 6 to 8 years.
