As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance Georgia detained two persons on the fact of manufacturing and selling of forged GEL 100 banknotes jointly, by group of persons upon prior agreement.

Investigation revealed that the accused persons sold forged GEL 100 banknotes, with total value of GEL 900 in different supermarkets, located in Tbilisi

As a result of investigative activities, in addition, two counterfeit GEL 100 banknotes, technical equipment and printing materials for manufacturing forged money were seized.

Investigation is underway under the second part of article 212 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
