As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have initiated an investigation against two employees of the Center for preliminary technical inspection of cars on the fact of production and sale of forged documents and abuse of power.

The investigation revealed that convicts, utilizing special position, in the process of inspection of individual’s vehicles, issued the false acts on appropriate technical condition of inspected cars, thus concealing the facts of inconsistency to the technical standards.

The investigation is under way under articles 220 and 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
