INVESTIGATION SERVICE ARRESTED TWO CITIZENS ON THE FACT OF STORING AND SELLING FORGED MONEY

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia arrested two citizens of Republic of Turkey, as an accused on the fact of storing and selling large quantity of forged money, by group of people, with prior agreement.

 
Investigation determined that in December 2018, persons exposed in crime, sold forged EUR 500 banknotes in the total amount of EUR 7000, in currency exchange booths located in Batumi. Additionally EUR 6000 of forged money was seized during the arrest procedure of the accused persons.

 
Investigation is underway under second part of article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
