As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of appropriating large amount of property by deceit and manufacturing forged document certifying property authority.
Investigation determined that the accused person, in order to fraudulently appropriate 991 m2 of land, owned by a foreign citizen, having value of more than GEL 300 000 in the village of Dighomi, Tbilisi, submitted to the LEPL National Agency of Public Registry a forged power of attorney as if it was issued by a notary in Baku and a forged purchase agreement, on the basis of which the land was registered on his name.
As of today, the land plot is seized.
Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180, second part of 210 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
Relevant measures are being carried out in order to identify and expose other persons involved in this type of crime.
