INVESTIGATION SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA ARRESTED ONE PERSON ON PRODUCING AND SELLING FORGED MONEY

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested one person on producing and selling forged money.

 

Investigation has determined that in November and December 2017 the accused person has produced more than 3 300 units of forged 1 GEL coins and used them illegally in automated payment machines.

 

As a result of investigative activities - forged 1 GEL coins, materials, molds and equipment used for production of coins were seized.

 

Investigation is underway under first and fourth parts of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
