As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in Adjara region, brought to the criminal liability two persons on the fact of carrying out entrepreneurial activities without relevant permit.

Investigation determined that the accused persons had set up gaming business facilities in 2 different locations in Batumi, where without the proper mandatory permit, in the first case – table gambling was conducted illegally, in the second case - using internet, the lotto drawing process was broadcasted on the websites of internet casinos operating outside of Georgia.

It was determined that in case of legal operation of the facilities, as a permit fee, approximately GEL 350 000 should have been included in the state budget.

The abovementioned crime is envisaged by the second part of Article 192 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and is punishable by imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
