Deputy Heads of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Mr. Vaja Panozishvili and Mr. Vakhtang Paresishvili had a meeting with: assistant legal attaché of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the Embassy of the United States of America – Matthew Boyden, Supervisory Special Agent of Criminal Investigative Division of Transnational Organized Crime - East of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the U.S. Department of Justice – Thayne A. Larson, Investigator of the Office of the Legal Attaché of Embassy of the United States of America - Giorgi Berishvili.
Representatives of Investigation Service shared information with guests about federal powers and priority directions of the activities of the Service.
Modern methods of investigation of the financial and economic crime, importance of cooperation and use of IT, money laundering, anti-corruption and legal aspects of crimes committed in financial-economic field, were the topics of discussion during the meeting. Attention was also focused on training courses, raising qualification and sharing experience in the United States of America, by American colleagues for employees of Investigation Service.
Senior officials of Investigation Service and representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America agreed on future directions of professional cooperation.
