As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out based on a received information, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, brought to the criminal liability 2 persons on the fact of deception of customers. 

Investigation determined that the accused persons, from one of the dairy companies, were buying expired and inedible products at a low cost, which were supposed to be used for animal feeding. Instead, in order to receive illegal material benefits, the accused changed the appearance of the dairy products, after which the expired and low-quality goods were sold, fraudulently, in bakeries, enterprises manufacturing semi-finished products and trade facilities in Tbilisi.

As a result of investigative activities, approximately 6 tons of expired milk products, intended for sale, were seized.

The crime is punishable under the second part of Article 219 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to 2 years.
