As a result of investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one Georgian citizen on the fact of breach of procedures related to movement of particularly large amount of goods across the customs border of Georgia.
Investigation determined that the accused person, through the customs checkpoint “Sarpi”, using the truck vehicle, brought a particularly large amount of undeclared Turkish-made medicines hidden from the customs control.
As a result of investigative activities, Turkish-made medicines were seized, customs value of which exceeds GEL 25 000.
Investigations is underway under the second part of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
