As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, one person was arrested by the representatives of Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia on the fact of illegal logging by group of people and preparing of forged waybill.

Investigation has determined that one of the members of a criminal group, systematically maintained the process of illegal logging in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. In order to legalize the sales of timber the accused person was preparing forged bills of lading that caused a serious damage.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 210 and the first part of article 303 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.

Currently, respective activities are carried out in order to detect and expose other persons related to above mentioned crime.
