As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed the fact of bribery in Imereti region.

Investigation determined that, the accused person, representative of the mayor’s office of Terjola municipality, in order to receive illegal income, asked for and took Gel 1000 as bribe from one of the citizens, in return for throwing construction waste on the territory of the municipality.

Investigation is underway, under first part of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
