As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was arrested on fact of breaching procedures related to movement of goods across the customs border of Georgia.

Investigation determined, that the accused person imported large amount of drugs (totally 33) to the territory of Georgia, through the customs checkpoint “Sarpi”, hidden from the customs control, in a specially arranged secret compartment of the car under his driving.

As a result of investigative activities, smuggled drugs were seized with total value of GEL 6 470.

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
