As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained 2 persons on the fact of storage, sale and transportation of excisable goods without excise marks in large quantity, committed by more than one person.

As a result of investigative activities, 75 000 packs of cigarettes of various brands without excise marks were seized from the persons involved in crime in Kakheti region.

The total market value of seized cigarettes without excise marks exceeds GEL 290, 000.

Investigation is underway under the second and third parts of the article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
