ROLLED TOBACCO WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the Revenue Service, identified 4 facts of storage, transportation and realization of rolling tobacco subject to marking without excise stamps in a large quantity in Samegrelo region. Four individuals were accused and brought to the criminal liability of committing this crime.

As a result of the investigative activities, 150 kg of rolled tobacco without excise marks intended for sale were seized from the accused persons, the market value of which exceeds GEL 18 000.

An investigation is underway under the first, second parts of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
