As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, together with the representatives of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of Georgia, one person was exposed on breaching the procedure related to the movement of large amount of goods across the customs border of Georgia.
Investigation has determined that the accused person imported flavored tobacco, without declaration, hidden from the customs control, across the customs border of Georgia, through the customs checkpoint “Tsiteli Khidi”, in specially arranged hidden compartment of Mercedes Benz vehicle, with total customs value of GEL 6 725.
Investigation is underway under the first part of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
