As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia has exposed two persons on breaching the procedure related to the movement of goods across the customs border.

Investigation has determined that the accused person imported especially large amount of golden goods without declaration, in his truck, hidden from the custom control, across customs border of Georgia, through customs checkpoint “Sarpi”.

As a result of investigative activities approximately 10 kilograms of golden goods were seized, with total customs value - GEL 610 000.

Investigation is underway under the second and fifth parts of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 8 to 11 years.
