INVESTIGATION SERVICE IMPOSED CRIMINAL LIABILITY ON TWELVE PERSONS ON THE FACT OF MISAPPROPRIATION OF LARGE QUANTITY OF STATE PROPERTY BY DECEPTION

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia imposed criminal liability on twelve persons on the fact of misappropriation of large quantity of state property by deception by making and using forged documents, with a prior agreement by the group.

 

Investigation determined that during 2016-2017 years, the accused persons issued forged protocols on on-site examination of immovable property and fraudulently appropriated state-owned lands by using them.

 

Using forged documents, the accused persons, deceitfully took possession totally on 11 600 square meters land plot located in the village of Saguramo in Mtskheta district, with the total market value of GEL 260 000.

 

In the process of investigation, fraudulently appropriated land plots were seized. At this stage, corresponding legal procedures are carrying out in order to return land plots to the ownership of the state.

 

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 362 and the third part of Article 180, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
