As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained three persons on the fact of misappropriation of another person’s property by deceit in large quantities, with prior agreement as a group.
Investigation revealed that the accused persons, in order to obtain someone’s property for unlawful appropriation, based on a forged power of attorney, in September 2020 registered on their name 1001 m2 of land plot, near Lisi Lake in Tbilisi, registered in the name of a Canadian citizen.
The above-mentioned land was seized during the investigation. According to the expertise, the market value of real estate exceeds GEL 300 000.
Investigation is underway under the second, third and fourth parts of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
