MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PROJECT "SUPPORT TO THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM IN GEORGIA" FINANCED BY EUROPEAN UNION AND LIAISON OFFICERS OF THE EMBASSIES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION MEMBER STATES

MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PROJECT "SUPPORT TO THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM IN GEORGIA" FINANCED BY EUROPEAN UNION AND LIAISON OFFICERS OF THE EMBASSIES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION MEMBER STATES

Head of Investigation Service - Soso Ramishvili, together with the heads of other departments, met with the representatives of European Union funded project "Support to the Public Administration Reform in Georgia" (PAR) and the liaison officers of the embassies of the EU member states (Poland, Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Latvia, Greece). The guests were acquainted with the recent important changes within the Investigation Service, the results achieved in the last year and the vision of close coordination with European partners in order to upgrade the qualifications of employees.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to establish the so-called “Diplomatic Club”. The guests highlighted the role and importance of the Investigation Service in the fight against financial-economic crimes in Georgia. Moreover, expressed their willingness to provide assistance, within their mandate, to the Investigation Service in the following directions: Strengthening of seized assets management and analytical capabilities; Finding and studying specific analytical programs; Activating professional contacts with colleague agencies operating in the countries represented at the meeting; Training of the employees of the Service both in Georgia and abroad.

All of the above will not only improve the efficiency of the Agency, but will also be a step forward in terms of implementation of EU standards - which will contribute to the fulfillment of the State's obligations under the Association Agreement signed between Georgia and the European Union.

“In the nearest future, we hope to jointly initiate a successful and productive cooperation, which will indubitably affect the activities of our Agency” - underlined the Head of the Investigation Service - Soso Ramishvili, at the end of the meeting.
