As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed two facts of falsification of semi-finished meat products and imposed criminal liability on the heads of two companies.

Investigation determined that the accused persons were producing falsified meat products (chops, Gupta, Khinkali) having changed characteristics, in those enterprises of semi-finished meat products situated in Batumi. According to the expertise act, product ingredients did not match with the data given on an etiquette. Finished product had a low volume of fat, protein and total weight of mince, as well as its energetic value.

For the crime of above mentioned category, the first part of article 197 of the Criminal Code of Georgia envisages imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
