Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia hosted the delegation of Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was led by the deputy chairperson of the Agency, Mr. Zhenis Elemesov. At the meeting, the guests were introduced with the activities of the Investigation Service, existing challenges, important changes made in the recent period and the results achieved last year.
The Head of the Investigation Service - Mr. Soso Ramishvili and heads of other departments introduced the mandate of the Investigation Service, visions of the development of analytical activities to the Kazakh colleagues; Also, shared their experience about the legal bases of employment and training of current employees of the Investigation Service, as well as in the direction of conducting investigation in criminal cases related to financial pyramids.
The parties agreed that the increase in economic activity between Georgia and the Republic of Kazakhstan is related to the increased threats of crime in the financial and economic field. Therefore, it was deemed necessary to constantly present innovations in daily activities in order to minimize the potential negative consequences of financial and economic crimes on the economy of our States.
The parties discussed the challenges facing Georgia and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fight against financial and economic crime, and agreed on the expediency of signing a memorandum on mutual cooperation in the future in order to collaborate in various specific directions.
