As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of bribe taking in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region.

Investigation determined that the employee of one of the forestry districts of LEPL National Forestry Agency, while performing official duties, in order to receive personal illegal material benefits, in exchange for extracting and taking walnut trees, without permission, from his operating territory, demanded and received GEL 1 000 from the citizen as a bribe, during which he was arrested.

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years.
