INVESTIGATION SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA HAS ARRESTED TWO PERSONS ON STORING AND SELLING OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia have exposed two facts of storing and selling of large amount goods subject to marking, without excise marks in Samegrelo and Kvemo Kartli regions and criminal liability was imposed on two persons.

 

As a result of investigative activities 18 500 packs of “Master” cigarettes without excise marks were seized in Kvemo Kartli region. Also different types of cigarettes without excise marks (total - 3 250 packs) were seized in the apartment of an accused person in Samegrelo region.

 

Total market value of the seized cigarettes exceeds Gel 42 000.

 

Investigation is underway under second and third parts of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
