As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed the fact of breaching the procedure related to movement of goods in especially large quantities across the customs border of Georgia.
Investigation determined that citizen of Turkey was trying to export 839 units of different types of watches from Georgia to Turkey, through customs checkpoint “Sarpi”, hidden from the customs control, in specially arranged hidden compartment of the car being under his driving. Total customs value of the above mentioned goods was estimated more than GEL 26 000.
Investigation is underway, under the second part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
