Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has arrested one person on preparing and selling falsified alcoholic beverage and using forged excise stamps.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service, one person was arrested for preparing and selling falsified alcoholic beverage and using forged excise marks.

 

Investigation determined, that in Adjara region, the accused person was selling, artisan made, falsified alcoholic beverage (whiskey – Jack Daniels) with forged excise marks.

 

As a result of investigative activities 87 bottles of whiskey, marked with forged excise marks and 93 pieces of forged excise marks were seized.

 

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 197 and first part of Article 2001 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 2 to 4 years.
