As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Department of Shida Kartli Division of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, through the coordinated activities carried out together with the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained 3 persons of the facts of storage and transportation of particularly large amounts of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks. 

Investigation determined that the accused persons, imported 24 950 packs of different brands of non-excised tobacco, intended for further sale, from the occupied territory of Georgia.

Total value of tobacco seized as a result of the investigation exceeds GEL 102 000.

Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
