Based on the nomination of the Minister of Finance of Georgia, H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, and the order of the Prime Minister, H.E. Irakli Kobakhidze, Mr. Irakli Beraia was appointed to the position of Head of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance.
Today, the Minister of Finance of Georgia introduced the new Head of Investigation Service, Mr. Irakli Beraia to the staff of the agency. The Minister of Finance mentioned about the important role of Investigation Service in combating financial and economic crime and expressed hope that under the new head, the agency will continue to perform effectively towards the security and development of the economy. He thanked the former Head of the Service, Mr. Soso Ramishvili, for leading the agency and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The new Head of Investigation Service, Mr. Irakli Beraia, thanked the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance for the confidence they extended to him and noted that the fight against crimes committed in the financial and economic sphere, corruption practices, and maintaining fiscal discipline will remain the top priority of the Service.
Mr. Irakli Beraia graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Before his political career, he had a successful career in the banking sector. In 2016-2025, he served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia, representing the 9th, 10th, and 11th convocations. Until today, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Justice.
The new Head of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Beraia, has already begun performing his duties.
