As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with Kakheti District Prosecutor's Office, brought to the criminal liability one person on the fact of fraudulent appropriation of large amount of state-owned funds by manufacturing and using forged documents.

Investigation determined that the accused person, on behalf of the enterprise under his management, signed a state procurement contract with the City Hall of one of the municipalities of Kakheti district on conducting the rehabilitation works of the roofs of the houses damaged by the natural disaster, worth GEL 999 270. Then, in order to receive illegal material benefits, accused manufactured forged documents related to the conducted work, by entering increased volume of work, demanded from the client and fraudulently misappropriated GEL 244 623.

Investigation is underway under the first parts of Articles 362 and 210, and third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
