Head of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Soso Ramishvili met with the Regional Program Advisor of the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Office of the United States Embassy in Georgia, Rossitza Petrov. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Investigation Service and the US Office of Export Control and Related Border Security.
At the introductory meeting, the Head of the Investigation Service, Soso Ramishvili, introduced to the guests the specifics of the Agency's activities in the field of combating financial and economic crimes.
Rossitza Petrov underlined the productivity of the collaboration between the US and Georgian authorities and the need for future intensification. Emphasis was also placed on the role of the Investigation Service in the fight against the smuggling under the Container Control Program (CCP). The American guest, once again, noted the importance of our Agency’s involvement in the program.
At the meeting, parties agreed on the specific plans for future bilateral cooperation. The US Embassy has expressed its willingness to assist the Investigation Service in both sharing international experience and expanding access to the data analysis systems.
