As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested two persons on storing and selling forged money by the group, with prior agreement.

Investigation has determined that the accused persons have sold forged GEL 50 and GEL 100 banknotes in Imereti Region. As a result of investigative activities additionally fifteen stocks of GEL 100 forged banknotes were seized.

Investigation is underway under second part of the Article 212 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years. Currently respective operative-searching activities are carried out in order to detect and expose other individuals involved in the above mentioned crime.
