As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of bribe-taking, in Shida Kartli Region.

Investigation determined, that an employee of one of the forest districts of the LEPL “National Forest Agency” of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, while performing official duties, in order to receive illegal personal material benefits, in exchange for unauthorized extraction and removal of coniferous tree seedlings from its area of operation, demanded and received a bribe of GEL 5 000 from a citizen. The accused pleads guilty to the committed crime.

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years.
