Investigation Service exposed three facts of storing and transportation of cigarettes without excise marks

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with representatives of Revenue Service, exposed three facts of storing and transportation of large amount of goods subject to marking, without excise marks and detained one person on the abovementioned fact.

 

As a result of investigative activities, 4 110 packs of cigarettes with different brand names, without excise marks, prepared for selling, were seized from houses and vehicles of those persons exposed in crime in Adjara, Kvemo Kartli and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regions.

 

Total market value of seized cigarettes exceeds GEL 12 000.

 

Investigation is underway under the first and second parts of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
