INVESTIGATION SERVICE HAS EXPOSED TWO FACTS OF STORING AND TRANSPORTATION OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have exposed two facts of storing and transportation of goods without excise marks, subject to marking.

 

Investigation has determined that persons exposed in crime, were storing and transporting in one case 551 boxes and in second case 880 boxes of “HEETS” brand tobacco products (used for electronic cigarette), for the purpose of further sale.

 

Total market value of cigarettes without excise marks seized as a result of investigative activities estimates more than GEL 7000.

 

Investigation is underway under first part of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 2 to 4 years.
