As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with representatives of the Revenue Service of Georgia, exposed two facts of storing and transportation of large quantity of products subject to marking, without excise marks.

As a result of investigative activities, 2 031 packs of different types of cigarettes and 1850 packs of “HEETS” brand tobacco products, used for so called electronic cigarettes - IQOS,  transported for the purpose of selling afterwards, were seized in the vehicles of persons exposed in crime, in Tbilisi and Rustavi.

 
Total market value of products without excise marks, seized as a result of investigative activities, estimates more than GEL 14 000.

Investigation is underway under the second part of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years
