As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Gardabani and Bolnisi municipalities, representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia have exposed 5 facts of storing, transportation and selling of especially large amount of products without excise, subject to marking. Respectively, criminal liability was imposed on 5 persons. 

 

As a result of investigative activities, totally 14 700 packs of different types of cigarettes without excise were seized. Market value of the above mentioned goods exceeds GEL 39 000.

Investigation is underway under first part of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.

The Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia will actively continue to carry out activities in order to detect the crimes of above mentioned category and expose persons involved in them.
