INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED SIX FACTS OF STORING AND TRANSPORTATION OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia in coordination with representatives of Revenue Service, exposed six facts of storing and transportation of especially large quantity of goods subject to marking, without excise marks and detained three persons.

 
As a result of investigative activities, 2 397 packs of different types of cigarettes without excise marks and 4 470 packs of “HEETS” brand tobacco products, used for so called electronic cigarettes - IQOS,  designated for sale, were seized in Tbilisi, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Adjara regions, from persons exposed in the crime.

 
Total market value of those products without excise marks, seized as a result of investigative activities, exceeds GEL 33 000.

 
Investigation is underway under the first, second and third parts of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
