As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed the fact of unlawful use of trademark of another person committed by a group with a prior agreement, in the region of Adjara and two persons were charged on the following.

Investigation revealed that with intention to gain illicit material benefit, director of one of the detergent selling company and subsequent employee were packaging cheap detergents in an artisan workplace and selling them as branded detergents, illegally using trademarks of “PERCIL” and “ARIEL”.

As a result of investigative activities, large quantity of finished goods manufactured by means of unlawful use of trademark, as well as raw materials and printing materials necessary for their manufacturing were seized.

Investigation is underway under the third part of the article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
