INVESTIGATION SERVICE REVEALED 31 FACTS OF STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION OF NON-EXCISED GOODS IN SEPTEMBER

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out throughout Georgia, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in the month of September of current year, revealed 31 facts of storage and transportation of a large amount of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks. 5 facts out of 31 have been revealed through the coordinated activities carried out together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

During the investigation, total number of 58 770 boxes of different brands of non-excised tobacco, intended for sale, were seized from the persons exposed in crime.

Total market value of the seized non-excised tobacco exceeds GEL 240 000.

Investigation is underway under the first, second and third part of Article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
