The Investigation Service exposed one person for breach of the procedure related to the movement of goods across the customs border

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia together with employees of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service exposed one person on the fact of breach of the procedure related to the movement of goods across the customs border of Georgia.


According to the investigation, it has been determined, that person mentioned above illegally brought especially large quantities of undeclared jewelry products to Georgia, including 280 grams of gold and 244 grams of silver alloy, through the Munich-Kutaisi flight.


As a result of investigative activities, jewelry has been seized with total customs value of GEL 26 563.


Investigation is ongoing on the case under article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
