INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED 28 FACTS OF CONCEALEMENT OF PROPERTY USING FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION IN ORDER TO AVOID TAX LIABILITIES

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out during the current year, Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed 28 facts of concealment of property using fraudulent transactions, by entrepreneurs, in order to avoid their tax liabilities.

On the basis of precise evidences obtained during the investigation process, there was defined that, as a result of tax inspections and inventories carried out, the above mentioned entrepreneurs had been levied large sums of money in favor of the state budget. In order to avoid tax liabilities, they systematically deceitfully alienated their property to the enterprises fictitiously registered on the names of their relatives and persons close to them. As a result of the above mentioned activities, tax authorities couldn’t perform enforcement measures to collect the taxes and penalties levied in favor of the state budget.

For the abovementioned criminal offences the representatives of Investigation Service imposed criminal liability on 28 entrepreneurs, under the Article 2051 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
